Vopos is the latest project by 0100101110101101.ORG.
For years now the net.art duo is working in the internet and is now enlarging its working radius to include the three communication networks telephone, satellite and internet. Vopos is an artistic experiment in the digital era. The duo defines its latest work as telecommunication art and declares the latest technologies as suitable tools for artistic creation, in a time when art has to face changing paradigms.

From the beginning of 2002 GPS (global positioning system) transmitters, which the artists are permanently carrying, send their coordinates to the own website, always accessible to the public. The data is transferred to city maps, so the current whereabouts of the two artists are constantly visualised. Vopos is part of a larger project called Glasnost, initiated in 2000 by 0100101110101101.ORG, it consists of the intention to produce the greatest possible amount of data about individuals and to publish it in the internet.

Joined with the artist collective epidemiC, 0100101110101101.ORG have launched a selfreproducing program, a computer virus called ”biennale.py”, commissioned by the Slovenian pavilion at the Biennale in Venice. In Frankfurt 01001001110101101.ORG is going to present their latest project Vopos on occasion of Manifesta 4 and the exhibition I love you on May 25, moreover they will take part at the expert discussion about ”digital bohème” on May 23, at mak.frankfurt.
